Our third annual gala was held Friday, April 17, 2009 at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 175 East 10th St., in downtown St. Paul. This year, attendees enjoyed an hors d'oeuvres reception and wine tasting, live music by the Indonesian-inspired group Balung Geitih, speeches by U.S. Representative Keith Ellison and State Representative Carlos Mariani, a wine raffle for 60 bottles, a raffle for a large-screen television, an impressive silent auction, and Latin dancing and dance lessons from Rene Thompson Dance Studio.
